This Old Camera

2015-2024

Consisting of thirty-five episodes over the course nine years, This Old Camera was a You Tube video series showcasing the history of photography. While many of the earlier episodes featured a single camera, like the Canon AE-1 or camera format, like the Advanced Photo System (APS), later episodes delved into topics such as digital vs film in the early 2000s, and gold plated cameras.

T.O.C. Xtra

2018-2022

Designed to be a companion show to This Old Camera, T.O.C. Xtra talked about very specific historical event of the history of photography, such as The 10 Hottest Cameras of 1991, and 5 Weird and Inappropriate Camera Commercials. Most Notably, was the discovery of the original photographer for the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Poster.

Darkroom Knights

January 2022

Back for its second and final year, I again took my best black and white film photos and made a box set from the results.

The Cowboy Trail

2021

For a decade it was one of my goals to traverse The Cowboy Trail: an 800km-ish stretch right here in Alberta and I kept putting it off until I finally made a commitment to do it. You can read about my journey here and here.

Darkroom Knights

January 2021

This is one of two mini-darkroom-session-marathons where I printed by best work from the previous year and vlogged my experience. To make it interesting for the viewer I utilized and experimented with different equipment.

A FortKnight of Film

Sept 28, 2020 – Nov 19, 2020

FortKnight was designed to be a follow up to my previous film shooting/daily vlog marathon “30 days of Knight” where I shot a roll of film every day and flogged it every day, Casey Neistat style. The first time around was not only grueling, but expensive but this time I shortened it to two weeks and ran a successful Kickstarter Campaign.

30 Days of Knight

July 28, 2016-Aug 27, 2016

During the early days as a YouTuber I wanted to accomplish a couple things, including getting good at editing fast and having a lot of content. I figured the best way was to have a vlogging marathon. An amazing, exhausting, life altering experience that gave me just what I needed and turned out a viewer favourite as well. 30 cameras, 30 days, 30 vlogs.

Stepping Stone Manor

March/April 2014

In 2014, I was hired by the Calgary Homeless Foundation and tasked to help with their latest project, Stepping Stone Manor. The idea was that a new, affordable housing property was going to be built in place of an old house which was seeing its final days. Rather than just demolish the old property, artists including myself, with the guidance of CHF would “beautify” the property before demolition…Keep Reading/View Photos

Mysterious Developments

May 8th, 2013 –
October 8th, 2015

Mysterious Developments was my first You Tube channel designed to reunite lost film with the original owners. First conceived as a website, it garnered a lot of press but by the time the channel was established much of the momentum had been lost. It was a labor of love but ultimately very hard to promote.
