Life After You Tube

,

As I write this it’s almost a year to the day that I decided to pack it up when it came to an eight-year stint on YouTube. I’ve sold the pitch numerous times as to why, but just in case you haven’t heard the very brief summery is that YouTube has changed and so have I. We’ve all seen them, creators that should have quit a long time ago holding on by the thread of only the most die-hard fans. I’ve seen a couple in particular that once had metrics I only dreamed of and now they have a tenth of what they used to, and they look tired. Someone even said that about me once on Reddit, that I looked “melancholic”…truth hurts.

I’d like to say I left right when I should have but it was probably a year overdue.

So, what have I been doing now that I don’t have to stand in front of a camera and read from a teleprompter on the regular?

Nothing.

And it’s amazing.

I had no idea how much real estate YT took up in my mind on a regular basis. The truth is though I am now ready for the next thing, and what that is I’m not sure yet. I’ve dipped my toes in a couple projects, but I’m still figuring things about.

I started this website to put it all together, all my creative endeavors over the last twenty-five years and maybe through that I’ll see what’s next. If you’re here early, and the site looks broken, it is…this will take some time. I don’t even have a newsletter yet.

If you came here because you’re wondering what happened to the channel, well I’ll have some answers there soon as well.
